To ensure that you have the correct DNS records for your domain, use the DNS lookup tool to double-check them. This will help you avoid any downtime. A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, PTR, SRV, SOA, TXT, CAA, DS, DNSKEY, and many others are among the DNS entries.

DNS Records Types

  • A record
Also known as an address record, is the most basic sort of record that assigns an IPv4 address to a domain name or sub-domain name.
The domain name is linked to an IP address by this record.
  • AAAA record
The hostname is mapped to a 128-bit IPv6 address. 32-bit IPv4 addresses were used to identify computers on the internet for a long time. However, due to a scarcity of IPv4, IPv6 was developed.
The four "A"s (AAAA) are a mnemonic for IPv6's four-fold increase in size over IPv4.e DNS Server.
  • A CNAME record
Also known as a Canonical Name record, is used to create an alias for a single domain name. The aliased domain or sub-domain receives all of the original domain's DNS data and is typically used to link subdomains to an existing main domain.
  • MX records
Also known as Mail Exchange records, indicate which mail exchange servers are in charge of routing messages to the correct destination or mail server. Use MX Record Lookup for in-depth investigation.
  • NS records
Also known as Name Server records, identify the name servers in charge of managing and publishing DNS records for a domain. These are the DNS servers that are in charge of handling any queries pertaining to that domain.
  • SRV record
Also known as the Service record, specifies which specific services the domain provides, as well as the port numbers. SRV records are frequently required by Internet protocols such as the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) and the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
  • SOA records
Also known as Start of Authority records, include critical information about the domain, such as the identifying master node of the domain's authoritative nameserver, the domain administrator's email address, the serial number of the DNS zone, and so on.
  • TXT record
Permits the website's administrator to include any text in the DNS record.
